Undergraduate and Graduate Enrollments

What does this measure? 

This table counts the number of undergraduate and graduate students enrolled in each of the Mid-Hudson counties. It captures if those students are full- or part-time. 

Putman County does not have any higher education institutions.

Summary Statement

Westchester County has the highest total enrollment with 32,489 students. It has the highest number of educational institutions. Dutchess County, home to Marist University and Vassar College, follows with the second-highest enrollment of 20,548 students. Putnam County has no institutions of higher education within its borders. The vast majority of Orange County’s graduate students are enrolled at Touro College, which hosts 675 of the County’s 765 graduate students. 

A significant portion of students across most counties are full-time, with Dutchess County having the highest full-time proportion at approximately 72.66%. Conversely, Sullivan and Orange counties have a higher proportion of part-time students, at approximately 59.89% and 55.55% respectively. Undergraduate enrollment dominates across all counties.
