What does this measure?

This indicator identifies Orange County municipalities participating in New York State’s Pro-Housing Communities program as of 2025. The program allows municipalities to submit Letters of Intent to join, and those that meet program criteria may be designated as Certified Communities.

Summary Statement

As of 2025, three towns (Cornwall and Crawford with Letters of Intent, Tuxedo certified), three cities (Middletown, Newburgh, and Port Jervis certified), and five villages (Florida, Greenwood Lake, Kiryas Joel, and Montgomery with Letters of Intent, Warwick certified) were engaged in the Pro-Housing Communities program. This shows both active participation through Letters of Intent and recognition through certification across all types of municipalities in Orange County.
