Summary Statement

Diseases of the heart remain the prevalent causes of death in Orange County and New York State. Orange County saw a similar rate of COVID-19 deaths to New York State in 2020 with 24.4% of deaths attributable to the virus in Orange County versus 25.1% in New York State, 18.7% in 2021 in Orange County versus 17.7% in NYS, and 11.6% in Orange County in 2022 versus 9.9% in the entire state.
