What does this measure?

This table measures the number of overdose deaths in each of the Hudson Valley counties between 2020 and 2024.

Summary Statement

The number of overdose deaths in Orange County dropped in 2024 by 71% from 2020. Orange County’s number of deaths by overdose peaked in 2021 at 147. All of the counties saw a decline between 2020 and 2024, with Sullivan County experiencing the largest decline. Only New York State saw an increase between 2020 and 2024. Data for Putnam County is not available for all years and Rockland County’s number in 2024 is not available.
