What does this measure?

This table shows adult and juvenile drug arrest rates in Hudson Valley counties and New York State. Adult arrest rates (per 10,000 population) include both felonies and misdemeanors from 2006 through 2020, with a breakdown for 2015 and 2020. It also reports the number and rate of juvenile drug arrests (ages 16–21) for Orange County and New York State in selected years from 2007 to 2022. The table includes percent changes across multiple time periods.

Summary Statement

In 2015, Orange County had a total of 509 felony drug arrests, followed by 1,319 misdemeanor drug arrests. In the most recent year reported, 2020, Orange County saw a decrease in both categories, with 423 felony drug arrests and 666 misdemeanor drug arrests. Juvenile drug arrests in Orange County had a significant decrease throughout the years, with as many as 380 arrests in 2007 and 5 in 2022.
