Incidence of Obesity
What does this measure?
This indicator is measuring obesity rates in two different populations within several Hudson Valley counties: adults from 2008-2009 and students from 2010-2012 and 2022-2025. The data is broken down by county and shows the percentage of the population that is considered obese and overweight based on BMI.
Summary Statement
In summary, the data shows a clear increase in obesity rates among students between the 2010-2012 and 2022-2025 periods across most counties. Additionally, for both adults and students in the Hudson Valley, the percentage of the population classified as overweight is consistently higher than the percentage classified as obese.
